At night, a group of men gather on the stadium of an elite school they once attended. Some of them are the big winners in this new society. Colonists on their own land, they look away so as not to see the gangrene that is growing there.
In a pincer movement from limbo to the heavens on one side, and from a conquered shoreline to wilderness on the other, we have a filmic spiral whose axis is the history of Lebanon. The narration borrows from dreamlike narrative, the misappropriation of images, Marxist political manifestos, philosophical tales and much more. Bewildered and curious, viewers are forced to readapt their perceptions and perspectives, and, in doing so, sharpen their gaze. In a subtle hint, the voice-over gives way to narration and, in what resembles a martial art move, our gaze is reversed. With a side-step and a glance towards the darkness, a jubilant recovery begins. Through this change of perspective, for the duration of a film, conquerors are conquered and history can be turned upside down.
