Programmed by Jean-Marie Barbe
The passionate and pained expressions of a young woman overwhelmed by guilt and anxiety as she struggles to reconcile her sexual identity with her religious faith. A loving elegy to a friend lost to suicide.
One of the most amazing formal propositions resulting in a very beautiful and very moving film. The alternating formats (real images, graphic effects, photos, and dramatised situations) illustrate the complicity between the author and his protagonist. Shannon, an artist herself, contributes to this multiform creation with the many works she left behind, with her songs and writing. And to describe the fragility of this young woman, the director goes as far as setting himself the challenge of filming animated sequences of sheer ice! It is all very subtle until the epilogue, which lets us gauge for ourselves the need for this love poem.
