Synopsis

The provincial lifestyle at the centre of Gaël Lépingle's film is often considered too banal to merit being the subject of a documentary. Yet here he takes the stretches of flat, uninspiring countryside, the identikit detached houses lined up in quiet residential areas, the villages just short of 'typical' that no-one wants to visit, the village halls, other communal areas, and even the locals themselves as backdrop to the tale of 'The Three Musketeers'. A romantic story (par excellence), a costume drama (of course) and a musical all rolled into one, which brings out the flecks of sparkle in the daily life of this 'nice valley'.
